Version v1.2026.05 · Effective during the Path Ascent private beta

1. About this document

Path Ascent is a career-transition execution engine that is currently in a private, invite-only beta. This document describes what data the product collects from you, how the team uses it, what we do not do with it, and how you can request deletion.

Because this is a beta product, the product surface area — and the data it touches — may change between releases. Material changes will be reflected here and the document version above will be incremented.

2. What we collect

During the beta, the product may collect and store the following categories of information you provide directly:

The product also records lightweight product-event telemetry (for example, "persona selected", "task started", "feedback submitted") to help the team understand how the product is being used. The event payloads are filtered through a server-side allowlist so that free-form text you enter — such as resume bodies, notes, and outreach drafts — is not sent to the analytics table.

3. How we use it

We use the data above to:

4. AI / Coach context boundaries

The AI Coach is invoked from within the product to answer questions about your situation. When you send a Coach message, the product attaches a constrained slice of your profile and saved-role workspace as context — only the fields the Coach needs to give a useful answer.

What is excluded from Coach context, by design:

Coach prompts and responses may pass through a third-party AI provider for inference. We do not include the excluded fields above in those prompts.

5. Event tracking and beta feedback

The product records a fixed allowlist of product events (for example, when you complete onboarding, start a task, add a saved role, or open the Coach). Each event carries only the keys explicitly permitted for that event — anything else is silently dropped before storage.

When you submit beta feedback through the in-product widget, the message text and the page you were on are sent to the Path Ascent team. The team reads beta feedback as part of improving the product. Feedback you submit may be discussed internally and may inform changes to the product.

6. Data retention

During the beta, your data is retained for the duration of your beta participation plus a limited operational window afterward to allow for feedback follow-up and product improvement. Aggregated and de-identified telemetry may be retained longer for product analytics. We will publish a definitive retention schedule at general availability.

7. Deletion requests

You can request deletion of your account and the data associated with it at any time by emailing the address in §10 below. We will confirm the request and complete the deletion within a reasonable operational window. Aggregated, de-identified telemetry that cannot be tied back to you may be retained for analytics.

8. We do not sell your data

Path Ascent does not sell your personal data, your resume, your saved roles, your notes, your outreach drafts, or any other content you enter into the product. We do not share your data with employers, recruiters, or job boards.

9. Third-party processors

Path Ascent uses a small set of vendors to operate the product, including hosting, database storage, an AI inference provider for the Coach, and (when paid checkout is enabled) a payment processor. These vendors process data on our behalf under their own terms; we limit what we send them to what each one needs to do its job.

10. Contact

For deletion requests, privacy questions, or anything else covered by this document, email privacy@pathascent.app.

11. Beta nature of the product

Path Ascent is currently a private, invite-only beta. Features, data shapes, and the contents of this document may change as the product evolves. By using the beta, you accept that the product is a work in progress and that the team may iterate on functionality, copy, and data handling during your participation.
